A mixture of organic bancha green tea, popped corn and toasted hulled rice kernels, this strange combination comes from humble beginnings in early Japan. Tea was a luxury back in old Japan annexing out the poor and the middle class from enjoying tea regularly. Poverty stricken Japanese started to cut their tea with puffed rice to make their hard-earned tea stash last. Modernly, Genmaicha is enjoyed by all social classes. A great bancha green tea with a grain like finish.
